Do temporary storage areas need the same containment as permanent ones?
We're going to have a few IBCs sitting in a yard for about six weeks while our main store is being refitted, and I'm not sure how much of the usual setup we need to replicate for what's essentially a short term arrangement. A colleague reckons we can just leave them on the concrete since it's temporary, but that feels like the kind of shortcut that gets someone in trouble. I've been reading about
temporary chemical storage area in UAE and the guidance suggests the requirements don't really change just because it's short term, but I'd rather hear from people who've actually done this. Did you bother with bunds for a temporary setup or just accept the risk? And did anyone ever get questioned on it during an inspection?
