Tiling or waterproofing first, which comes up more often in complaints?
I've been reading about bathroom remodels and keep coming across horror stories about waterproofing done badly, leading to leaks and mould months later. It's made me realise I don't actually know what to look for when a contractor says they've waterproofed properly. I came across
kitchenbathpaloalto.com/services/bathroom-remodeling while researching, but I'd rather hear from people who've actually had a bathroom done. What did your contractor do for waterproofing, and did they explain it to you? Also, is there a way to check the work before the tiles go on, or do you just have to trust them? I'd rather ask the right questions upfront than find out there's a problem after everything's sealed up.
